One of the signs of spring that we look out for is the wisteria that grows so happily all over the Loire valley. It’s generally out for my birthday on the 25th although of course we may have to reset our clocks this year being in a different part of the Loire where the climate is more continental.
This photo was taken in our garden today. The flowers are just beginning to come out. Looks like they’ll be on target for next Monday!
In a couple of weeks, gardens, walls, parks and chateaux will be looking glorious as the beautiful lilac, pink or white (depending upon the variety) flowers hang down from the twisty, curved branches. Spring is a fabulous time to be in the Loire valley. The weather is generally mild and things are still calm before the main tourist season kicks in in May.
