Just a few more pics of grapes that have suffered badly with all the heat this summer. These grapes won’t be picked for making wine as there is no juice to use but it will have an impact upon volume for those affected.
In French we use the term ‘grillé’ which means roasted, grilled, fried.
We’ll have more information when hand picking starts in the next week or 10 days.
Out and about in the hills of the Layon yesterday we saw that the vineyards now have budburst. As you can see from the pictures, they are still at the woolly bud stage ie there is little or no green to see quite yet.
