Vines are in full flower here in the Vouvray vineyards and elsewhere in the Loire. This picture was taken yesterday while having a wander across the plateau just above us here in Noizay.
The Cabernert Franc has also flowered in the Chinon vineyards with most growers extremely happy with the the rapidity and consistency of flowering. Conditions have been good. Sunny breezy days are excellent as it makes for a more even pollination.
It probably seems obvious that the amount of sunshine a vine receives will have a definite effect upon growth and development. But is it just the sun?
The Côte Roannaise is a long way from us here in Noizay but it’s still considered to be part of the Loire when it comes to wine.
