This was the title of our most recent review on Tripadvisor that popped up today. It really was a lovely day. William and Grace missed their train so we popped off to have a coffee and then went back to collect them from the station. From then on it was uphill all the way.

As we near the end of September and the grapes are safely gathered we reflect on the vintage year which although much easier in terms of weather than 2024, has still provided it’s challenges.

Pruning is in full swing now as we approach budburst. Walking through the vineyards today I saw several different methods being adopted in the vineyards.

A single glance at two vineyards – one vibrant and green, the other eerily orange—tells a story of two very different approaches to viticulture.

Harvest is still in progress here in the Loire. We’re still being woken up at 4am by our winemaking neighbours cranking up the harvester.

I never thought I’d get excited about beans. That is until I met the Coco de Paimpol.

Now here’s something that is ridiculously easy to make and really delicious – Farinata or Socca.

We were up bright and early today as temperatures are due to rise quite dramatically this afternoon and we’ll be taking a petite sieste.

2014 is one of our favourite vintages. Peu Morier is a single parcel wine that’s located between Vernou sur Brenne and Vouvray.

Vines are in full flower here in the Vouvray vineyards and elsewhere in the Loire. This picture was taken yesterday while walking in Noizay.
