Life in the Loire on lock-down. 7th April. Day twenty four.
My yesterday’s bread was not voted the favourite so far it has to be said. It rose well and has great flavour but seems a bit dry.

Nigel turned over in bed this morning and said, “I’ve made the cocktails for tonight! We’re having rhubard bellinis and I just made them in my dream”.

Squirrels are cute aren’t they? Especially the sweet little red ones that we find here in the Loire with their bushy tails, acrobatically leaping about.

It seemed like a busy morning which seems impossible as there was absolutely nothing to achieve. The clocks springing forward an hour probably contributed.

Last night before going to bed I rustled up the ingredients for a no-knead bread loaf. Could it really be that easy I asked myself. Well the answer is yes!

I woke up with a start this morning. I was dreaming and in my dream I was shopping for essentials. In my basket were avocados, chocolate, crisps and onions.

Feeling a bit sluggish this morning. Partly because I probably got a bit carried away with the wine last night (it being my birthday).

So finally the UK joins us in lock-down. I spoke to my parents last night (thank goodness for Facetime) and they do seem quite worried by it all now.

There was a kerfuffle outside this morning as we woke up. I could hear voices so went to the window to see what was happening.

As I looked out of my bedroom window I could see my neighbour ploughing the little parcel of land opposite his house in preparation for planting.
