Life in the Loire after lock-down. 19th May. Day 9 of déconfinement.
Bad news from the UK. The vineyard where Nigel worked before we moved to France suffered terrible frost damage a few nights ago. 90-100% damage.

Life in the Loire after lock-down. 16th May. Day 6 of déconfinement.
I had the best night’s sleep last night. Was it due to the fact that I got up at half five yesterday morning? Was it the 6km walk through the vineyards?

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 10th May. Day fifty seven.
Apart from some bright flashes of light during the night, the storm didn’t materialise. Maybe today. Déconfinement minus one.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 9th May. Day fifty six.
Lock-down uniform on. Baguettes are on the agenda this morning. This could be a very big mistake. We will see. They’re a surprise for Nigel.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 8th May. Day fifty five.
The 8th of May. The day we commemorate 75 years since the end of the Second World War. In normal times there would be a ceremony in Paris.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 7th May. Day fifty four.
Up early. Tea downstairs in the ‘big red’ (as my dressing gown is affectionately known). Sourdough in the oven. Back upstairs to get dressed.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 5th May. Day fifty two.
An early start today. Might have something to do with the fact that we had no wine last night and therefore an early night.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 4th May. Day fifty one.
A rather sad start to the day today. We were sitting having a cup of tea in the salon when suddenly there was a thud against the window.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 3rd May. Day fifty.
Wow day fifty. That sounds like a long time. Counting down now to May 11th when the lock-down is eased (hopefully). Lots to get on with today.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 2nd May. Day forty nine.
Feeling full of beans and ready to go this morning. I have lots to do for our new collaboration with Chateau de Montdomaine.

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 29 April. Day forty six.
Sourdough toast and honey for breakfast today, then off to the shops. I’ve taken to wearing my mask now when I go shopping (thanks Juliette).

Life in the Loire on lock-down. 28th April. Day forty five.
We enjoyed a Bircher style muesli for breakfast this morning with the rhubarb compote I made yesterday. I went way overboard with the added sugar.
