This wine is (as it says on the label), L’alliance des générations – a wine made by 2 generations of the Merieau family. Jean-François, his sister Patricia and their father Jacky.
An arpent de terre is an old French measurement that is both a unit of length and of area.
The Mérieau family has been making wine since 1886 and is now in the hands of Jean-François Mérieau. 38 hectares on flinty clay and limestone among the hillsides and the left bank of the Cher river give a diverse range of wines from a whole host of grape varieties including Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Malbec, Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Menu Pineau and Pinot Noir.
