Nigel had a dream last night. A nightmare in fact. Sandwiches were not allowed anymore. They were forbidden. Can you imagine? No sandwiches?

What better way to start the day than with some hot buttered toast and local honey from your friend’s hives (or should I say bees?).

I lay in bed listening to the blackbird singing loudly in the garden this morning. He sits on the top of our gate post. A little treat to start the day.

So, confinement has been extended until May 11th. After that, (if all goes to plan), there’ll be a progressive reopening of nuseries, schools and colleges.

Feeling rather christmassy after a lovely morning spent at Les Peupliers, a lovely bed and breakfast near Saumur run by Tracey and Mike Wilke. Mike is a chef and runs cookery courses from their charming property near Saumur.
