A morning spent learning about the wines of the Loire valley, a candlelit lunch in an old barrel cellar and then a leisurely trip along the river in a beautiful wooden boat. This one day tour gives you a glimpse of the Loire at its finest – its wines, wildlife and heritage.

What’s not included?
Collection or delivery from/to Angers TGV station which can be arranged for an additional 25€ per person. Collection locally can also be organised within a 30 minute radius of le tasting room (please ask for details).
Make your way here for a 10h00 start with coffee and biscuits made by local producer Le Vinaillou.
During the morning Cathy introduces you to the wines of the Loire valley with a comprehensive tasting. You’ll discover the main grape varieties and styles of wine produced as well as learn a few local secrets.
After the tasting, we move to the garden for an aperitif before enjoying a relaxing 3 course lunch in our old barrel cellar. Local dishes and specialities are served alongside seasonal salads and herbs from the garden, as well as a top quality cheeseboard and a delicious dessert.
After lunch we make our way down to our beautiful riverside village of Le Thoureil where we meet up with Alain Gillot who takes us out on his beautiful old ‘toue sablière’. An intrepid traveller and experienced boatman, Alain has many stories to tell of life on the river both here and around the world. A local man, he has a wealth of knowledge and can tell you all about life on the river during centuries gone by.

We require a 50€ per person non-refundable deposit upon booking for wine tours. Bookings made within 48 hours of the tour date will be subject to payment in full at the time of booking. Any tour cancelled within 48 hours of the tour date will be subject to full payment. Any cancellations on our part will be fully refunded.
