Zoom Tasting 24th July 8pm French time

Put the date in your diaries. The next Zoom tasting in on Saturday 24th July at 8pm French time.

This time I’ll be looking at some of the different certifications that you find on wine labels and explaining what they mean. Organic, Biodynamic, Terra Vitis, HVE – what are the differences and what do they protect or limit in the vineyard and the winery.

For the tasting I’ll be showing a couple of rosés from the Loire and encourage you to pop out and buy a couple to taste alongside me.

The Loire is the second biggest producer of rosé in France after Provence. You’ll probably be familiar with Rosé d’Anjou which is an off dry style but there are many others to consider. Try and find two different styles of rosé.

Rosé de Loire is always dry

Rosé d’Anjou is off dry

Cabernet d’Anjou is a little sweeter than Rosé d’Anjou

Rosé from Chinon, Bourgueil, St Nicolas de Bourgueil and Saumur is always dry

You might also find one from the Fieefs Vendeens, the Cote Roannaise, Coteaux d’Ancenis, Touraine Mesland, Touraine Noble Joué or the Coteaux de Loir!

So much choice!

Look forward to seeing you there.
