Walking through the vines the other day we came across two rows of very poorly looking vines.
It seemed strange. One complete row affected, then one row in perfect health and then another complete row affected.
What could it be?

Well, we checked off all the diseases that we know and nothing seemed to quite fit the bill so I asked Vincent Careme to have a look at the photos I took.
Easy he said! Damage from ‘désherbant’ (weedkiller, probably Round Up). The grower (who’s clearly a conventional grower and who uses chemicals), had set the sprayer at the wrong height and killed off two rows of vines as a result.
This parcel of vines is planted right opposite a very organic grower who is not very happy!
