Recipes from Le Tasting Room’s kitchen – spicy cumin and turmeric roasted new potatoes

New potatoes roasted in the oven with cumin and turmeric. Delicious with a steak or any kind of bbq, they are very moreish.

For 2 people you will need:

8 medium new potatoes (or more if you are feeling very hungry)

A teaspoon of ground turmeric

A teaspoon of ground cumin

sea salt and ground black pepper

A little olive oil

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F)
  • Wash the potatoes and put them in a pan of salted cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes then drain.
  • Pour a good lug of olive oil into a shallow roasting tray or dish, pop your potatoes in and massage them all over to make sure they each have a coating of oil.
  • Sprinkle over your ground cumin and turmeric making sure you get some all over the potatoes.
  • Pop in the oven and roast until crispy and golden (about half an hour).
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a little sea salt.

Voila! Simple and very very tasty.
