We picked up a couple of cases of Le Bois Jacou for ourselves and our upcoming tastings. We’re not normally big fans of Gamay but his is just packed with delicious red fruits and is leagues ahead of lots of other Gamays we’ve tasted recently.

From chalky clay soil, the vines are between 10 and 60 years old. Part of the wine has undergone a carbonic maceration (a whole bunch fermentation that extracts loads of fruit and minimal tannins).

It’s perfect with salads, charcuterie and light meats or just as a glass of red on its own.
