Up bright and breezy this morning to get that sourdough loaf in the oven. Great expectations as they say (well I have great expectations anyway).

I used to hate cats. My family was a ‘dog’ family. My Dad hates cats and so I hated cats. We always had labradors in our house.

Lemon and lime drizzle cake for breakfast with a black coffee. Life’s not so bad after all. A bit of a treat to start the day.

I’d like to report that we are both feeling revived, refreshed and raring to go this morning having had a night off the wine.

So, confinement has been extended until May 11th. After that, (if all goes to plan), there’ll be a progressive reopening of nuseries, schools and colleges.

A rather cloudy start to the day brightened by the first sighting of a Hoopoe in the garden. Hoopoes are such beautiful exotic looking birds.

Another sunny morning this Easter Sunday. As I lie in bed I can hear the gentle hum of the cooler in the winery opposite. A sure sign of warmer weather.

As it’s the Easter weekend I decided to make something appropriate for lunch today. Scotch eggs. One of Nigel’s favourite things in the world.

Work calls today. We have an on-line meeting at 11h00. We’ve decided to install an on-line booking system onto our website.

Market day today. I’m looking forward to popping over to Vernou to stock up on supplies for the week after breakfast. My first time since the lock-down.

First job this morning was to feed ‘Sally’ starter. I added another 50g of flour (25g plain, 25g wholemeal), 50ml of water at 26°C and gave it a stir.
