Le Tasting Room gets in shape for the 2019 season

loire wine tours

Things are really taking shape here at le tasting room in the Loire valley. Our new home is semi-troglodytic which means that it is partially built into the rock face. The main body of the house was built in the 18th century but a large part of our salon is built into the hillside where the stone dates back thousands of years.

It’s pretty special to see the fossils and morsels of flint glinting in the wall of our main living room. Why not come to the Loire and see for yourself. There is wonderful accommodation close to us and this year we celebrate 500 years since the death of Leonardo da Vinci who spend his last years in Amboise just 10 minutes from our village.

Our Loire Wine Discovery day includes a tasting of wines from all over the Loire valley, a home cooked lunch and then a winery visit in the afternoon. Each day is tweaked according to our clients interests and always includes a comprehensive cheeseboard from a top supplier. You also get a real insider’s view of what it’s like to live and work in the Loire valley and be so closely connected with the vine growers and winemakers of this special region.

We only accept small groups of between 2 and 6 and our tours are always led by us personally, the owners of the company. We are experienced wine professionals that can give you the inside track rather than the normal tourist experience. We deal with many of the smaller, organic growers in the region rather than the bigger producers.
