Le Tasting Room

A fabulous wine mini-break break for couples, friends and family.  Relax, unwind, enjoy the fine food and wonderful wine, and stoll by the riverside. Accommodation is at our local Auberge de la Sansonnière - a rural 2 star hotel with a fabulous restaurant.

• Arrive at the Auberge during the afternoon - collection from Angers/Saumur station can be arranged or make your own way.  We'll come and join you for an aperitif and drive you to a local restaurant for dinner that evening.

Day One

• Enjoy a leisurely petit déjeuner at a time to suit you.  Indulge in a selection of fresh patisseries and bread from the local boulangerie, yoghurt and cereals, with tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
• After breakfast you can either stroll through the pretty countryside to le tasting room or be collected.  We'll spend the moring tasting a range of Loire valley wines.
• Savour a homemade 3 course buffet lunch with wine in our old barrel maturation cellar beneath the house.  Enjoy a selection of dishes creatively prepared using local ingredients sourced from our neighbouring potager, and herbs from our garden.
• Spend the afternoon in the vineyard.  You'll have the opportunity to taste wine and discuss vine growing and wine making directly with the producers.
• Enjoy a delicious dinner in the restaurant of the Auberge de la Sansonnière.

• Start the day with a continental breakfast   Although your time with le tasting room is at an end, feel free to explore the beautiful village of Le Thoureil, walk in the woods and enjoy the gentle pace of life in this quaint hamlet.

Price: 650€ per couple to include 2 night's accommodation with breakfast, supper with wine on arrival, tutored tasting, lunch and accompanied vineyard visit on day two.
