Indulge yourself with a day devoted to food and wine from Anjou.  In the morning you’ll learn all about the wines of the Loire and then, after a delicious 3 course lunch in our 16th century barn we’ll take you to Angers where you’ll spend the afternoon at the Atelier Gourmand learning how to make a classic French treat that you can take back to Paris.

Details

Relax as we drive alongside the beautiful river Loire and arrive at le tasting room in time for coffee/tea and biscuits.

Enjoy a tutored tasting of 6 wines reflecting the diversity of this great winemaking region.  Cathy will run through the basics of tasting technique, discuss the geography of the region and unravel the mysteries of French wine labeling in the relaxed environment of our 16th century tasting room.

Relax with an aperitif before a delicious 3 course lunch.  A typical menu would be marinated chicken breasts with roasted mediterranean vegetables or oven baked cod with a pea, leek and lardon ragout, a top quality cheeseboard from renowned fromager Pascal Beillevaire, and a tarte au citron or plum clafoutis – all accompanied by wines from the region.

After lunch we’ll drive you to the Atelier Gourmand in Angers.  Here, you’ll learn how to make a typical French treat such as chouquettes, chocolate macarons or tuiles. This is a hands on class where everyone participates so if you’re a keen cook this a great chance to master a French classic.

We require a 75€ per person non-refundable deposit upon booking for wine tours. Bookings made within 48 hours of the tour date will be subject to payment in full at the time of booking.  Any tour cancelled within 48 hours of the tour date will be subject to full payment.  Any cancellations on our part will be fully refunded.
