The elegance of a true French chateau just a stone's throw from Saumur. Chateau de Beaulieu was built in 1727 by Jean Drapeau who was architect to Louis XV. It stands in lovely grounds just 2kms from the centre of Saumur and while we would recommend you have use of a car when staying here, you can still walk to one or two very good restaurants in Saumur no problem. The rooms on the first floor are particulary lovely with elegant furnishings, each one having a different theme. You can be assured of a warm welcome from Mary, the owner who speaks French and English. Rooms from 85 - 120 Euros and suites from 140 - 200 Euros including breakfast. 30 minutes from le tasting room
