Looking to get closer to nature while discovering the wines of the Loire valley?
I was thrilled to visit a new project just 5 minutes away from us here in the Loire this week. Ecolodge de Loire is due to open this summer with 4 hand built, very high spec cabins in the woods just a few minutes from us here at le tasting room. Although not finished, I paid them a visit to see how they are getting on and was very impressed.

The lodges are reached by a wooden walkway from the main eating/relaxation area
Each cabin can accommodate 2 people (with 2 beds or a double), will have a proper loo (ie one that flushes), an Italian style shower, an inside seating area with nespresso machine and kettle to make yourself a brew and an outside terrace. Plans are afoot for a large outside Scandinavian style hot tub heated by a wood burner and in the evening guests will be able to use a communal open living/dining area complete with bread/pizza oven and BBQ.
We’ll be able to collect from there if guests fancy a day discovering Loire valley wines or they can just hope on a bike and cycle over. Sounds like a great idea to me.
