Paris is busy as always during August despite a distinct lack of Parisians! Here in the Loire we continue as normal and take pleasure in sharing our calm way of life in the countryside with fellow wine lovers looking for a change of pace. Getting to the Loire from Paris couldn’t be easier – the TGV provides a direct service to Angers St Laud and yesterday we welcomed 3 couples down here for the day. With temperatures a little cooler than of late, it was fresh enough to take pleasure roaming around the vineyard examining the vines as well as doing plenty of wine tasting.

A wonderful Loire Wine Discovery day
Last week we had a wonderful Loire wine discovery day with 3 lovely people from Georgia. It was one of those days when everything just clicked into place and we all had a lovely, relaxed day. We shared our lives here in the Loire with them and we learnt about their lives too. We drank wine and shared lunch, visited a vineyard and tasted in a local winery.19 Jul, 2014
Le Thoureil early morning
It was such a beautiful morning that I popped down to the river early this morning to walk Sybil . Le Thoureil is one of the prettiest villages perched on the river Loire half way between Angers and Saumur and just a 15 minute walk from our home.13 May, 2014

It was like hanging out with two friends who just happened to know a lot about wine.
The whole day was fabulous … had a great time and came away much better informed about the region and its wines.
